The article is absolutely right. Cleaning the ears frequently is not a good idea. I got an outer ear infection because of this.
When I first flushed my ears, a lot of wax came out and I felt like I could hear better afterward, so I started doing this on a regular basis. My ears became "too clean" as a result and I ended up getting a bacterial infection. I started getting yellow, foul-smelling pus from my ear. I had to take antibiotics to clear it up.
I don't flush my ears anymore. My doctor said that my ears will get rid of excess wax naturally. Cleansing already happens to a great extent when we get fluid in our ears during showers and swimming. Additional cleansing is not necessary, it's actually harmful.
