Taking evening primrose oil capsules offers a number of health benefits to users. This herbal supplement can help patients manage the discomfort associated with rheumatoid arthritis. One of its main uses is to relieve women's health concerns, including PMS symptoms and menstrual cramps. Evening primrose can also be used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and acne.

The evening primrose plant is Native to North America, but can be found all over the world. This hardy plant can grow up to five feet (1.5 meters) or more in height. The leaves have a hairy appearance and are between three and six inches (7.6 and 15.2 cm) in length. The evening primrose flower is bright yellow in color and has four petals. All parts of the plant are edible and the evening primrose oil capsules are made from extracting this substance from the plant's seeds.

One of the main benefits of using evening primrose oil capsules is that it can relieve the swelling and resulting pain of rheumatoid arthritis. The oil contains GLA, a type of fatty acid. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to relieve symptoms in people living with this medical condition.

Evening primrose oil capsules can also be used by women in their reproductive years to relieve the symptoms of PMS. The herb's anti-inflammatory properties can be used to lessen the discomfort of menstrual cramps. It can also relieve physical symptoms associated with the start of a menstrual period, including breast tenderness, cravings for carbohydrates, and diarrhea.

This oil can also be used to treat a number of skin conditions. A person living with eczema may find that taking evening primrose oil capsules regularly can help to relieve inflammation and itching associated with this condition. It is particularly effective when the underlying cause of the skin irritation is due to difficulty converting dietary fats into GLA. Taking the oil capsules as a GLA supplement will relieve this imbalance and result in smoother, clearer skin.

Acne is another common skin condition which can be relieved by using evening primrose oil. The capsules can be taken orally to help reduce the amount of oil being produced in the skin's pores. Alternatively, the capsules can be broken and the contents spread directly on the surface of the skin. For best results, the contents of the evening primrose oil capsules should be applied to the skin at bedtime, and can be removed with a mild soap and water in the morning.

Evening primrose oil helps cramps? I sure could have used that information in high school! I have a friend whose grandson has juvenile RA. I wonder if the evening primrose oil would help his pain?

I'm willing to try different natural remedies if they're not some that will be toxic over time. Maybe I'll give this stuff a shot if my cramps get bad again.
