What are the Different Types of Slimming Treatments?

There are a number of slimming treatments available that could be utilized in order to lose weight and become more lean. These treatments vary in effectiveness as well as in the difficulty of implementing them. Some of the more popular slimming treatments are liposuction, herbal slimming products, colon cleanses, acoustic wave therapy and body wraps.

Liposuction can be performed in a variety of ways. The most well-known method of liposuction involves a surgical procedure in which a surgeon removes fat deposits with a suction tool. This method requires the use of anesthesia. The surgeon also has to make several incisions in the skin of the patient.

Liposuction also can be done in less intrusive ways. It can be administered in the form of an injection or with a laser. When an injection is used, chemicals are injected into fat deposits in order to harden the fat. It will then be passed naturally as waste. Laser liposuction allows the surgeon to dissolve fat and tighten the skin in specific areas.

Another one of the most popular types of slimming treatments is taking herbal supplements. There are a number of herbal slimming products on the market. One could take herbal slimming tea, slimming drops or a regular pill. Most of these products are designed to increase metabolism and reduce the amount of stored fat in the body.

The colon cleanse is one of the most effective slimming treatments that is available. This treatment works extremely fast and can produce noticeable results. This type of treatment helps remove toxins and buildup from the colon. This service is commonly offered in spas around the world. It can help an individual shed excess weight and slim down quickly.

Acoustic wave therapy is another slimming treatment that is commonly used in the spa industry. This type of treatment utilizes sound waves and vibrations to help break up fat deposits in the body. Acoustic wave therapy involves putting these sound waves underneath the skin so that they can more easily reach the deposits of fat. In addition to helping break up fat, this treatment also is used in order to smooth out the skin and reduce cellulite.

Body wraps are one of the most popular types of slimming treatments that can be administered in order to help individuals slim down quickly. This process involves wrapping the body tightly in an elastic cloth. The body wrap induces sweating and helps to eliminate excess fluid in the body.

@Azuza - I hope your friend wises up and saves her money!

That being said, lipo can be great for getting rid of stubborn areas of fat. I have a friend who is pretty slim, but she had love handles she just couldn't get rid of! She was eating healthy and exercising, and the rest of her was in great shape. But those love handles just kept hanging on.

She got liposuction on that area about 6 months ago, and the results were amazing. And so far the fat hasn't come back!

One thing I wanted to point out about liposuction is that the results won't last forever. Even if you get liposuction and the results look really good, there is nothing to stop the fat from coming back if you don't change your habits!

I actually have a friend that this happened to. She spent money getting lipo, but didn't change her diet so the fat came right back. Now she wants to get lip again! I really don't think she understands what is really causing her problems!

@Subway11 - My sister went to a diet rehab center that was an inpatient facility. At this facility they had daily scheduled exercise classes along with nutritional meals that were carefully planned.

She was gone for a month which was hard for her, but during that time she received so much support. They not only offered nutritional counseling, but they also offered individual and group counseling. She lost about twenty pounds and was so excited to continue with the weight loss plan when she got home.

She said that some of the people that were with her were considering gastric bypass surgery. Some were also considering lap band surgery which was not as invasive if this program did not

work for them.

I think that any slimming treatment really should offer some form of counseling because most people that are overweight are like that because of emotional issues and if this is the case no slimming treatment will ever work until they address why they have the problem in the first place.

This can be a painful process that not everyone is up to but working through that pain is what gives you the very insight that you need in order to make different choices.

@Sneakers41 - Going to a doctor and getting on a low glycemic diet really makes a difference right away especially if you are concerned with belly fat.

I was on an eating plan that involved lean proteins and some complex carbohydrates. I also eliminated sugar completely and not only did I lose weight fast, but I also did not have the traditional cravings that you get when you eat sugary foods.

It also gave me way more energy which was another plus.

@Gravois - I agree with you. The best slimming treatments involve things in which people can make complete lifestyle changes. This is the only way to truly keep the weight off.

People that fall for the quick fix will definitely be back where they started from because losing weight is a commitment to living a healthier lifestyle. Getting liposuction does not do that.

In fact, people that are very overweight can not have liposuction because liposuction is invasive surgery that is serious and you should only be about fifteen pounds overweight or so before a reputable plastic surgeon would consider the operation.

I think that if you simply wanted to lose weight quickly you could also try a

liquid diet. Liquid diets offer fast weight loss results but they also kill your metabolism and the weight loss is unsustainable. In fact Oprah Winfrey had a show about this in which she lost about 70 pounds and was able to maintain her weight loss for a single day.

I think that these drastic measures do not show you how to change your lifestyle which is why they are not effective over the long haul. In order to lose weight for good, you really need to have patience and realize that it takes time to lose weight.

@Sara007 - If you haven't had much success with the slimming creams you may want to visit a spa and try the slimming body wraps they offer. A slimming body wrap always works for me, but unfortunately, the results are temporary. I really think that unless you get liposuction on your thighs, that cellulite isn't going anywhere.

I think that the slimming spa treatments work by compressing your thighs a bit, so that they keep up that firm look for a while. It is almost like the old trick of wearing shaping garments. The effect doesn't last for long, but you can see the effects for awhile at least.

I have tried so many different types of slimming treatments that I am getting a bit frustrated. I have a problem with cellulite on my thighs, and I can not seem to find a good slimming cream that actually works. I know men are always saying, just exercise and eat well, but trust me, cellulite is a tricky thing to deal with.

Does anyone know of the best cellulite treatment that would have a fat girl slim down a bit? Well, not really fat, but still suffering from cellulite woes.

I am even willing to try out one of those cellulite machines you see advertised online. Though I am not sure how well they would actually work.

One strategy to avoid at all costs is the over the counter diet pills they sell in pharmacies. There are tons of commercials for these on TV and often a whole section dedicated to them in the pharmacy. Regardless of all the exposure, these pills are rarely effective and sometimes dangerous.

The pills are essentially speed. They speed up you system so that you will be more active and your appetite will be suppressed. This might sound like a great aid to weight loss, but you will often end up feeling worse after taking these pills than any amount of weight could make you feel. They can also be addictive and create other health problems.

I am speaking

from experience. I tried to loose a bunch of weight in the late 80s and I first tried diet pills. I dropped a ton of weight really fast but I found that I was taking more and more diet pills, barely sleeping and that my nerves were on edge at all times. I got off the pills, started eating poorly again and gained back all the weight. It was a terrible cycle. Learn from my mistake and stay away from the pills.

There are lots of great weight loss tools, but the only way to change the way you look and feel in a lasting way is to focus on your diet and exercise. Like I say, there are tools, but only real changes in your lifestyle will lead to lasting weight loos.

I say this just because so many people are looking for a quick fix magic bullet. I have seen people fall into this trap over and over. They get a product that promises to help them shed pounds and then they are heart broken to find that they are not losing any weight.

Or they find a quick solution like a fad diet or surgery and they

are elated to loose a bunch of weight really fast. But because they are still living the same lives they did when they are overweight they quickly gain the weight back and suffer through lots of disappointment and shame.

Eat sensibly, get some exercise everyday and be patient. Changing your body is not easy. You have to be realistic about the work you will but in and honest about how long your goals will take. But its not impossible. Stick with it and you will look and feel better for the rest of your life.
