Those interested in alternatives to modern medicine prescribed by doctors may wish to learn more about sulfur as a homeopathic remedy. This substance can be used to combat various ailments since it is believed to heal the human body quite well. Skin conditions can often be improved with this treatment, especially when the skin is red, itchy, and scaly. Digestive issues that include vomiting and indigestion are also often relieved by sulfur, as are respiratory disorders. Additionally, both men and women can use sulfur as a homeopathic treatment when it comes to problems involving the reproductive system.

Skin disorders are often believed to be cured by applying this purified and ground up mineral to the affected area. It often works best on skin that has become red, itchy, scaly, and sometimes dirty looking due to issues like eczema, acne, ringworm, scabies, and diaper rash. It can also be applied to a dry scalp, usually eliminating the need for over-the-counter products, such as shampoo that is meant to take care of this issue.

Another use of sulfur in homeopathy involves digestive disorders. Chronic problems like indigestion, flatulence, and diarrhea or vomiting at certain times of the day are believed to respond well to sulfur treatment. Constant belching, reflux, bloating, and even hemorrhoids can often be eliminated or at least reduced when sulfur is used for these problems, decreasing the discomfort or even pain that usually comes along with such issues.

Some people experience respiratory issues that make it difficult to breathe easily. This may include a feeling of dryness in the throat, a constant cough, and yellow or green phlegm. Such people may find that sulfur as a homeopathic remedy may help get rid of these uncomfortable symptoms. Swollen tonsils and even bronchitis can also usually be cured by this mineral, though in most cases it is still wise to see a doctor before self-treating for such illnesses.

Finally, both men and women may find that sulfur as a homeopathic treatment can greatly help them when it comes to issues involving the reproductive system. Men suffering from erectile dysfunction or impotence may get some relief from sulfur. Inflammation, itching, or any types of pains experienced in the genital area may also be helped with this mineral. Women, on the other hand, may find that sulfur can reduce issues associated with irregular or even painful menstruation. Additionally, vaginal itching, discharge, a burning sensation, and bothersome premenstrual symptoms may also be reduced or eliminated with the application of sulfur

I'm not sure if this is the same thing but I know that some foods like onions, fish, dates and broccoli have sulfur in them. It must be the same thing because I have heard that eating sulfur containing foods helps mend skin and also strengthens nails and hair. I was losing a lot of hair last year and started eating fish 2-3 times a week after hearing about it. It practically eliminated my excess hair fall. So I guess even if you are going to use sulfur powder as a skin treatment, you should also eat lots of these sulfur containing foods. It would work both inside and out then.

I use sulfur soap and a lotion with sulfur to control my acne. My dermatologist recommended it to me when I asked him about homeopathic acne treatments. It dries up acne really well. It can over-dry my skin so I wash my face with sulfur soap every other day. But I apply the lotion everyday because it has some other nourishing ingredients in it. I think they also have tinted face powder with sulfur but I haven't tried that yet.
