@jholcomb - You're remembering right, but there's actually a lot more to HRT than the study. Doctors often prescribe injections or creams with ethinyl estradiol, and the study only covered pills. Also, the women in the study were several years past menopause. A lot of doctors still feel that it's safe to have HRT temporarily right around menopause, as opposed to staying on it for years and years.
But other doctors say that it doesn't even help to take HRT for a short time. Basically, the jury is still out and women need to look into it carefully and discuss with their doctors.
